Mental Health First Aid Training
Mental Health First Aid courses
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England is an internationally recognised training organisation which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis.
An MHFA qualification won’t teach you to become a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis.
Adult MHFA courses are suitable for everyone aged 16 upwards and are invaluable in the workplace as well as education, public services and any situation where groups of people come together on a regular basis.
I am an approved Adult MHFA England Instructor and can deliver various courses online and in person directly to your organisation:-
Would you know how to help?
Just like physical health – we all have mental health. And just like physical health mental ill health can strike at any time and can affect people from all walks of life.
It is non-discriminatory.
Despite things improving there is still some stigma for those suffering from mental ill health. It hasn’t always been easy to know how to support our friends, colleagues or family members. Thankfully, as a society, we are changing and there are ways that everyone can offer support.
Become a Mental Health First Aider
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course which teaches people how to identify, understand and reach out to someone who may be experiencing poor mental health.
After receiving training, you will be able to recognise the warning signs of mental ill health and develop the skills and confidence to approach and support someone while keeping yourself safe.
You’ll also learn how to empower someone to access the support they might need for recovery or successful management of symptoms. This could include self-help books or websites, accessing therapy services through their GP, their school or place of work, online self-referral, support groups, and more.
What’s more, you’ll gain an understanding of how to support positive wellbeing and tackle stigma in the world around you.
