Bereavement by Suicide Counselling

The emotional devastation following a loss by suicide is overwhelming. It can have a long-term effect on all involved, which can in fact ripple beyond immediate family and friends. Relationship dynamics can be difficult at a time when you need support, to cope with the intense and complex grief from the loss of your loved one to suicide.

The many and varied emotions can include sadness, shame, guilt, fear and isolation. A person bereaved by suicide can be at high risk themselves of suicide. They can experience flashbacks and nightmares. There can be the endless questions of why and could they have prevented it. It can also be difficult dealing with the stigma that can still exist around suicide and even unkind comments from others.
I can provide the space and time for you to be listened to with genuine compassion and empathy. It takes immense strength to get through each day and to try and find some hope for the future. Understanding your emotions and coming to terms with this kind of loss is very much a part of this painful process.

I have over 10 years’ experience of supporting people bereaved by suicide, as they face the daily challenge of moving forward in their lives without their loved one by their side.
